Our primary objective is to establish and confirm our presence and integrity as a trustworthy and successful geological consultancy company with a core focus on exploration in the often remote and inaccessible regions of Greenland and Scandinavia.

Claus Østergaard

Claus has worked 27 years in the mineral resource and geoscience sector having discovered, managed and developed numerous exploration and brown-fields projects in Greenland and Scandinavia. His experience covers a wide range of commodities and industrial minerals as well as exploration logistics, resource modelling, metallurgical test work, permitting and assessment studies.

His career involves positions in several junior mineral exploration companies and project employment by GEUS, the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland. Claus is currently also Director in Greenland Anorthosite Mining and has acted as consultant for the global mining company Anglo American in 2018 and 2019.

Claus has a Masters in Geology from the University of Copenhagen from 1998, and was co-founder of 21st NORTH in 2009, Arctic Core Drilling in 2014, and partner and board member of Xploration Services Greenland since 2010. Claus was furthermore director of Greenland Gold Resources from 2010-2021 and Graphite Fields Resources from 2015-2021.

Anders Lie

Anders has 30 years of experience with mineral exploration, having generated, developed and managed a wide range of mineral projects in Greenland and Scandinavia including the discovery of the Ammassalik Nickel-Copper district in East Greenland, and participated in the early development of the Nalunaq Gold Mine in South Greenland. His expertise covers topics such as large-scale logistics in the Arctic, applied GIS/database management, permitting and assessment studies, metallurgical test work and budget planning.

Anders was employed by Rockwool from 2001-2002 where he had responsibilities within R&D in the stone wool industry and worked as senior geologist for NunaMinerals A/S from 2005-2009. As an independent consultant in GeoArc, Anders acted for a range of mining and exploration companies including Diamond Fields International Ltd. and INCO Ltd. Anders is currently also Director in Greenland Anorthosite Mining.

Anders has a Masters in Geology from University of Aarhus from 1994, and was co-founder of 21st NORTH in 2009, Arctic Core Drilling in 2014, and partner and board member in Xploration Services Greenland since 2010. Anders was furthermore director of Greenland Gold Resources from 2010-2021 and Graphite Fields Resources from 2015-2021 and is a member of the Geoscience Advisory Board at Aarhus University, Denmark

Senior Geologist / Project Coordinator
Casper Mejer

Casper holds a M.Sc. in Geology from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark and Luleå Technical University (LTU), Sweden. He furthermore has a B.Sc. in Geography from Aalborg University, focusing on resource management.

With responsibility for project coordination, staffing and client dialogue combined with +15 years of experience from mineral exploration and consulting, Casper is the eyes and ears of 21st NORTH´s services.

Previous experience include employment with Hudson Resources, Scandinavian Highlands Holding and Naturstyrelsen. For seven years he was also General Manager and Exploration geologist in SRK Consulting’s Danish Brand division.
